St. Lynn’s Press Awarded National Garden Communicators Honor

Pittsburgh, PA (July 3, 2017) —St. Lynn’s Press, a leader in organic gardening and eco-green book publishing, has been awarded the 2017 Wilfred J. Jung Distinguished Service Medal by GWA: The Association for Garden Communicators.

Founded in 2004 in Pittsburgh by longtime book publishing executive Paul Kelly, St. Lynn’s got its start publishing books on a wide range of topics, including body-mind-spirit, enlightened business and various “green” topics.  By 2010, St. Lynn’s realized the best way to utilize their talents and share their passion for books was to focus on the greener side of publishing.  Since then, St. Lynn’s has produced more than 70 titles and specializes in books for the gift market that give fresh perspectives on organic gardening, sustainable living, “slow” and “local” lifestyles and self-reliance.

“It’s a pleasure for us to serve folks like garden writers that are plant lovers,” said Kelly, a West Mifflin native. “Even our products are printed on plants and use inks derived from plants. So, I guess you could say we have more reasons than most to love plants too.”

The Wilfred J. Jung Distinguished Service Medal is presented to a GWA member that, as a company, promotes gardening across North America, helps to grow garden communications as a profession and supports the goals of the association and its members.

“Our affiliation with GWA has been a good match,” said Kelly. “We have served many of their members by helping them become published authors, and as a result, they have helped us grow our book business.”

This year, GWA also recognized two St. Lynn’s titles, The Cancer Survivor’s Garden Companion by Jenny Peterson and The Cocktail Hour Garden by C.L. Fornari, with a Media Awards Silver Medal. Both titles are now entered in the Gold Media Awards round for Best Product. This year’s competition featured over 60 categories across six media disciplines.

On August 7, GWA will honor St. Lynn’s during the 2017 Awards & Honors Dinner at the GWA Annual Conference & Expo in Buffalo, NY. To learn more about GWA, visit https://gardenwriters.org/.
